Le Bain Turc is an artwork painted by the French neoclassical painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and dated 1862. The painting is supposedly the last work of Ingres, who was 82 years old at the time. In a new form, he altered its original rectangular format to a tondo composition. The painting depicts a group of women bathing in a harem – with luxurious elements such as cloth cover, cushions and mirrors. As an acknowledgement of the impact that this artwork had on the world, exhibitions have been held all around regarding his work in The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art.
