About A Miracle of Nature

Thomas Moran, a notable painter of the 19th century in North America, is widely known for his landscape paintings of the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park. He was part of the second generation of American painters who were influenced by Thomas Cole’s style of spiritually infused naturalism. Moran’s watercolor pictures amazed the American public with their extraordinary quality when featured in Scribner’s Monthly.

Moran played a crucial role in preserving Yellowstone as a national park. His watercolors were instrumental in persuading Congress to designate it as America’s first national park. In fact, his artworks were so persuasive that they helped garner support for conservation efforts across the United States.

Among many works he produced, Moran created an oil painting entitled Grand Canyon Of Arizona From Hermit Rim Road in 1913 based on sketches he made during visits to Grand Canyon. The painting showcases an incredibly detailed panoramic view that captures one’s imagination immediately by revealing intricate details and patterns along with striking colors that infuse life into the work.

It is worth noting that not only does Thomas Moran have impressive technical abilities and creativity but also managed to use his talent to protect natural areas that would have had little protection otherwise – truly making him a miracle of nature among artists.
