“ANTI HYSTERIA DEVICE” is a sculpture created by Yinka Shonibare in 2011, representative of the contemporary art movement. The artwork intricately combines elements of industrial machinery with creative abstraction. It rests upon a dark wooden base and features a variety of metallic gears, levers, and gauges. Prominent within the sculpture is a large gear system interconnected with a red wheel and a brass pressure gauge, contributing to the overall impression of a whimsical, yet purposeful, machine. The structure also includes a conspicuous blade segment, intricately designed, protruding horizontally on the left side, juxtaposing the otherwise mechanical components with a touch of delicacy.
