Art Critic is a painting created by Norman Rockwell in 1955. This oil on canvas artwork measures 39 ½” x 36 ¼” and was commissioned as a cover illustration for The Saturday Evening Post, April 16, 1955. Rockwell was a prolific artist with over 4,000 original works and was commissioned to illustrate over 40 books, including Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
The painting depicts a student intently studying a Frans Hals painting. It is currently housed in the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
